			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size:x-small;">Ok…So, now I know why <em>they</em> say &#8220;<strong>don&#8217;t rely on the scale</strong>&#8220;. After the first week I was down 2lbs and that was after <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">a week of</span> no exercise and ups &amp; downs in the eating arena…Last week I incorporated a light exercise routine and really focused on my eating habits and I&#8217;m down to 244…so, on the positive side I lost another pound <em>BUT</em> I was really hoping that I would (at least) stay consistent…….Oh well, 2 weeks down &amp; 24 to go!</p>
<p>I have the mind set to keep up with the Slimfast challenge:</p>
<p>Breakfast: Shake</p>
<p>Snack: fruit</p>
<p>Lunch: Shake &amp; small lunch</p>
<p>Sensible dinner</p>
<p>I need to figure out how to have more water intake &#8211; I&#8217;m never thirsty; unless I&#8217;m overly active (which isn&#8217;t often) &#8211; so I&#8217;m limited to meals (ultimately I have 2 bottles of water a day (3 short)). I&#8217;m also starting a fitness challenge &#8211; to go hand in hand &#8211; and it includes walking, weights and stretches (7 days a week).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OK, so today marks the 1 week (complete) point&#8230;I know I shouldn&#8217;t be concerned with a weigh in, but I was curious&#8230;RESULT = down 2 lbs. I&#8217;m pretty much content with this as last week I did OK but when the weekend came I got off track a bit. Additionally, I have yet to start the &#8220;training&#8221; portion, so all-in-all not too bad &#8211; I guess&#8230;at this pace I&#8217;ll be down 52 lbs at <em>end </em>date. I know, I know, you lose more in the beginning &#8211; burn fat &#8211; gain muscle (more weight) and plateau. Week 2, here I come&#8230;</p>

<p>Not so long ago, I was able to eat everything in sight and stay at a moderately low weight…Over the past several years I’ve added 40% more body weight, without doing anything…I think that’s my problem;  I don’t do anything. </p>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">We, as a society, are encouraged to get 60 minutes of physical activity per day. Does this include eating while watching TV? If so, I’m safe.</span></div>
<p><span style="font-size:x-small;">But seriously, <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">we all</span> most of us have hectic schedules, where do <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">we</span>I make time for that 1hr (though it seems like such a small amount)? Additionally, I’ve made some a lot of poor eating choices..a typical day would consist of:</span></p>
<p>Breakfast: A Bagel w/ Cream Cheese</p>
<p>Lunch: whatever I could get my hands on – that was quick</p>
<p>Dinner: A steak or a couple of pieces of fried chicked covered in a creamy sauce</p>
<p>Desert – what day is complete w/o desert: A heaping bowl of Ice Cream</p>
<p>So, here we are,<em><strong> it’s day 1 of the challenge</strong></em>…”what’s the challenge”, you ask? The attempt is to lose 30 lbs…in 26 weeks. So, come end of March, I should <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">hope to</span> be down to a curb weight of 220 (Relax, I’m 6′2″…I can carry it well).</p>
<p>I’m already off to a great start…well, not really…but it only gets better from here on out.  My intent is to put daily/weekly input as a running tally to mark my progress…but also to keep me focused.</p>
<p>Breakfast: 1 serving of pumpkin pie (not as bad as I thought)</p>
<p>Lunch: Salad</p>
<p>…and he’s off!</p>

Like Joan Rivers getting some face work done &#8211; you can count on the Ravens D ready to smack the PATS offense in the mouth.</p>
<p>Injuries/game-time decisions will most likely be a huge impact on my prediction (later in the week).</p>
<p>What happened in RedSox nation? The Sox walked into the Bronx poised to win the season match up and challenge New York for a late run at the division&#8230;tThe only problem was that they left their talent in KC and were <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">humiliated</span> outscored 16 &#8211; 7. The Blue Jays are in town, tonight, and the Sox look to bounce back, lock up a playoff spot and start to get into post-season form.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ok so let me start with my beloved Patriots; I love these articles, that the &#8220;American Media&#8221; has published in the last week, about Tom Brady&#8217;s fall from grace&#8230;That they are no longer considered a contender because of their loss to the J-E-T-S&#8230;Are we serious? It&#8217;s week 2!!! First of all, these people need to stop expecting Tom Brady 2007 to walk through the door &#8211; this guy missed last season with one hell of a knee injury &#8211; it&#8217;s going to take a little time. Secondly, not to take anything away from the JETS &#8211; as they beat the PATS outright (they outplayed them)…but people are ready to give these guys the Lombardi trophy, and what about Sanchez? Sure, the kid looks good &#8211; good arm, good composure, smart &#8211; but the comparisons that he&#8217;s getting don&#8217;t fit &#8211; he&#8217;s a rookie &#8211; we&#8217;ll find out in December how good this kid really is!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s going to happen &#8211; the PATS will have some hurdles to leap over, this year, but when it&#8217;s all said and done (the regular season) they will be contending in January. I&#8217;m not convinced that they&#8217;ll be playing in Miami &#8211; but they will make it deeper into the post season than the JETS. In Bill I Trust.</p>
<p><strong><em>Prediction for week 3:</em></strong>   <strong>PATS score 30+ against Atlanta</strong></p>
<p>RedSox nation…it&#8217;s time to get into the not-so-way-back machine and turn the dial to 2007. Below is an excerpt from the letter to John Henry:</p>
<p>&#8220;With 10 games to go in the regular season, it appears that we are poised to have another battle with the Evil Empire…all cylinders are clicking; Bay, Papi, Vic and Youk will provide enough offense to make certain Jeter is working on his short-game by mid October…time to make some room in your office for number #8&#8243;</p>
